12.24 - 10 pm: Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica on the Holy Night of Christmas attended by 6000 faithful; before the Mass, the Holy Father delivered an improvised speech greeting the 5000 faithful present in St. Peter's Square who were following the Mass through the big screens. During the Mass, children from S. Korea, India, Mozambique, Paraguay, Poland, and Ukraine offered flowers for the Baby Jesus.

10 am: Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica on the day of Christmas; after the Mass, the Pope toured the Square to greet the faithful gathered.
