Presented herein are the various activities undertaken by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, during the month of June, highlighted by his Apostolic Journey to Spain, to Pavia and Sant'Angelo Lodigiano; the second extraordinary consistory with the college of cardinals; and the celebration of the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.

4th FOREIGN APOSTOLIC PILGRIMAGE
Spain: 6-12 June

6.6 - 8 am: Departure by airplane from Rome/Fiumicino International Airport to Madrid; the ITA Airways A320-9 departed Rome at 8.13 am. During his flight, the Holy Father sent telegrams to the heads of state of Italy and France. The flight covered 1333 km and landed in Madrid at 10.12 am.

10.30 am: Arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid/Barajas International Airport; Official Welcome by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.

11.30 am: Welcome Ceremony at the Royal Palace
12 nn: Courtesy visit to their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain; official photo at Sala Teniers; private meeting at Salón de los Espejos; exchange of gifts at the Cámara Oficial.
12.30 pm: Meeting with the Authorities, Civil Society and the Diplomatic Corps at Salón de Columnas in the Royal Palace; Transfer by car to the Apostolic Nunciature.

In the afternoon, before leaving the Nunciature, the Holy Father met with a group of approximately 40 disabled and sick people, supported by various Catholic charitable organizations and the Archdiocese of Madrid; short speech; recitation of the Pater Noster.

6 pm: Visit to the staff and beneficiaries of the “Cedia 24 Horas” Social Project at the Information and Welcome Center; meeting in the dining room for the guests; signing of the guest book; meeting at the external courtyard for the workers and patients; exchange of gifts; recitation of the Pater Noster and Blessing; visit to the adjacent Parish of the Crucifixión del Señor and meeting several representatives of the social associations of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Madrid; transfer by car to the Nunciature

8.30 pm: Prayer Vigil with Young People at Plaza de Lima; the vigil consists of a scenic representation of Godspell, the dialogue between Pope Leo XIV and some of the children and ends with a Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction. 600,000 faithful attended the vigil mostly young people.

6.7 - 9.15 am: Transfer by car, then by popemobile, from the nunciature to Plaza de Cibeles. Upon arrival at Palacio de Cibeles, the Pope was greeted by the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who presented him with the golden key to the city in the presence of Their Majesties the Spanish Royal Family and several members of the City Council. The Holy Father then signed the Book of Honor and walked to the sacristy.
10 am: Holy Mass in the Plaza de Cibeles, followed by the Corpus Christi Procession. The Mass was attended by 1.2 million faithful.

Transfer by car to the apostolic nunciature.
4.30 pm: Private meeting with 220 members of the Augustinian Fathers from various communities and various members of the Augustinian family in Spain in the Apostolic Nunciature

5.30 pm: Transfer by popemobile to the Movistar Arena.
6 pm: Meeting “Building Networks with the World of Culture, Art, Economy, and Sport” at the Movistar Arena; the meeting consists of speeches and testimonials and is interspersed by an artistic performance.

7.30 pm: Dinner at the Residence of the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid

6.8 - In the morning, private mass in the nunciature.
9.30 am: Meeting with the Prime Minister at the Apostolic Nunciature

10.15 am: Transfer by car from the Nunciature to the Palacio de las Cortes.
10.30 am: Arrival at the Palacio de las Cortes; signing of the book of honor in the Salon de Pasos Perdidos; meeting with members of the Spanish Parliament in the Salón de Plenos; speech in English and Spanish; after the speech, the Pope received a seven-minute ovation.

Transfer by car to the headquarters of the Spanish Episcopal Conference
11.30 am: Meeting with the Bishops of Spain in the Plenary Assembly Hall on the first floor of the offices of the Episcopal Conference; speech; signing of the Book of Honor; the exchange of gifts and apostolic blessing; greeting the Bishops in the office of the President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference; unveiling of the plaque commemorating the visit and photo with lay staff in the Conference Press Room

Transfer by car to the Nunciature
12.50 pm: Lunch with the Bishops at the Apostolic Nunciature

In the afternoon, meeting in the Nunciature with six victims of abuse by members of the clergy and the Church in Spain, accompanied by church personnel committed to supporting the victims. The meeting lasted for an hour, during which the Pope listened with affection and attention and assured them of his closeness, as well as that of the entire ecclesial community, and expressed his commitment to ensuring that the proposals received serve as a foundation for further efforts. He emphasized that the Church can truly be a safe and spiritually healthy place where wounds find comfort and healing.

Brief meeting with the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and with the opposition leader and leader of the Partido Popular, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

Before leaving, the Pope met with Queen emeritus Sofia and other members of the Royal Family.

Transfer by car from the Nunciature to the Cathedral of Madrid
6 pm: Prayer and Devotion to Our Lady of Almudena at the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Almudena; the act consisted of an opening prayer, the reading of the Gospel; speech; the Holy Father then paused in prayer before the image of Santa Maria de la Almudena, during which he offered a golden rose while the hymn to the Virgin is sung; recitation of a prayer, the Pater Noster, and apostolic blessing.

6.30 pm: Transfer by Popemobile, then by car from the Cathedral to the “Santiago Bernabéu” Stadium, home of the Real Madrid football team.
7 pm: Meeting with the Diocesan Community at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium; beside the stage are the images of the Virgen de la Almudena and the Cristo de Medinacelli, known as the "Señor de Madrid"; The meeting consists of screening of a video on “The Reality of Madrid,” three testimonies, the Convivium’s official anthem, a brief live commentary, and two other testimonies; speech from the Pope; recitation of the Pater Noster and apostolic blessing.

Transfer by car to the nunciature for an overnight stay.

6.910.20 am: Meeting with Volunteers in Pavilion 3 of IFEMA Madrid; The meeting consists of the screening of a video on “The Silent Army,” the testimony of a volunteer, a rap performance, the testimony of a volunteer; speech by the Holy Father; a musical interlude, with words of thanks from the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, the exchange of gifts, and blessing.

11.10 am: Departure by airplane from Adolfo Suárez Madrid/Barajas International Airport; The Iberia A320 left Madrid at 11.52 am.

Barcelona
12.25 pm: Arrival at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona/El Prat International Airport; the plane arrived at 12.45 pm.

Transfer by car to Barcelona Cathedral.

1 pm: Midday Prayer in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia; prayer at the tomb of Santa Eulalia, patroness of Barcelona; meeting with the chapter of the basilica and civil authorities in the Chapel of St. Lucy.

Lunch at the Archbishop's Palace.

In the afternoon, meeting with the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa i Roca.
Meeting with the organizing committee of the visit.
Meeting with approximately 200 participants in the MED26 Mediterranean Meeting.
Meeting with about 25 members of the Augustinian family in Catalonia

7.15 pm: transfer by car from the Archbishop's palace to the Olympic stadium; blessing of 30 ambulances before his tour in the Popemobile.

8 pmPrayer Vigil at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium; the Pontiff was welcomed with castellers (Catalan human towers); the rite consists of the Enthronement of the Cross, the Collect Prayer, and an introductory video entitled “Crosses in the World.” The Pope spoke with the young people; reading of the Gospel; homily.

Trasnfer by car to the Archbishop's palace for an overnight rest.

6.10 - 10.10 am: Transfer by car to the Brians 1 Penitentiary centre.

10.50 am: Visit to the “Brians I Penitentiary Center”; meeting with three chaplains, a group of inmates, and a group of volunteers in the conference room; the Holy Father listened to the testimonies of two inmates.

11.20 am: Transfer by car to the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat

12 nn: Recitation of the Holy Rosary at the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat; the prayer was attended by approximately 7,000 faithful; prayer in front of the image of "La Morenita"; greeting the faithful present in the square of the abbey.

1 pm: Lunch with the Benedictine Community of Montserrat

Barcelona
3.30 pm: Transfer by car to the Raval district of Barcelona

4.30 pm: Meeting with the Diocesan Charity and Welfare Organizations in the Church of Sant Agustí; the Holy Father listened to a testimony from a representative of the diocesan Caritas, a testimony on the topic of addictions, and one on the topic of human trafficking.

Transfer by car to the Archbishop's house.

6.30 pm: Transfer by car then by Popemobile to the Sagrada Familia Basilica.

7.30 pm: Holy Mass in the Basilica of the Sagrada Família; at the end of the Holy Mass, the Holy Father presided over the inauguration of the Tower of Jesus Christ of the Basilica.

6.118.30 am: Departure by airplane from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona/El Prat International Airport to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; the Iberia A320 departed at 8.45 am. The Holy Father sent telegrams to the heads of state of Morocco and Portugal.

10.50 am: Arrival at Gran Canaria/Gando Air Base; the plane landed at 10.38 am local time; the Holy Father was welcomed by the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, and by several local authorities.

11.40 am: Meeting with organizations working with Migrants in the port of Arguineguín; the Holy Father listened to the testimonies from a maritime rescuer, a Caritas volunteer, a victim of human trafficking, and a Latin American entrepreneur; speech from the Holy Father; blessing of a cross made from the wood of a migrant boat.

12.40 pm: Transfer by car and then by popemobile to the cathedral. When changing cars, the Pope received the golden key to the city from the mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

1.30 pm: Meeting with Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious, Seminarians and Pastoral Workers in the Cathedral of Saint Anne; after the reading of the Gospel, the Holy Father listened to the testimonies of a priest and of the General Secretary for Pastoral Care, punctuated by a musical interlude.

5.50 pm: Transfer by Popmobile from the Episcopal House of Las Palmas to the stadium.

6.30 pm: Holy Mass at the Gran Canaria Stadium

8.30 pm: Return to the Episcopal House of Las Palmas.

6.128:30 am: Departure by airplane from Gran Canaria/Gando Air Base to Santa Cruz de Tenerife; the plane departed at 8.56 am.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife
9.10 am: Arrival at Tenerife Norte-Los Rodeos International Airport; the plane landed at 9.40 am and was welcomed by some local authorities.

9.30 am: Meeting with Migrants at the “Las Raices Center”

10.10 am: Meeting with organizations working for the Integration of Migrants in the Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna in the presence of approx. 4000 people; the Holy Father listened to the testimonies from a Venezuelan priest and three migrants before delivering a speech.

Transfer by golf cart to the Bishop's house. Upon arriving, the Holy Father greeted the local Catholic community from the balcony.

12.15 pm: Holy Mass at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which was attended by approx. 40000 faithful; address before the end of Mass.

2.30 pm: Farewell Ceremony at Tenerife Norte-Los Rodeos International Airport
3 pm: Departure by airplane from Tenerife International Airport to Rome
At 4.30 pm, the Pope was welcomed by His Majesty the King of Spain, Felipe VI, with whom he had a brief private meeting.

After greeting the respective delegations, the Holy Father boarded an Iberia Airbus A320 bound for Rome.

Due to a technical failure on the papal flight aircraft, Leo XIV returned to Italy aboard the aircraft donated by His Majesty the King of Spain. Holy See personnel and journalists will return to Rome in the next few hours on an aircraft provided by Iberia.

The plane carrying the Pope took off from Tenerife Norte – Los Rodeos International Airport at 6.08 pm, local time. The Holy Father sent telegrams to the heads of state of Spain, Morocco, and Italy.

8.10 pm: Arrival at Rome/Fiumicino International Airport; the plane landed at 11.05 pm (Rome time).

A telegram of condolence was sent by the Holy Father to the Vicar General of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome, Cardinal Baldassare Reina for the death of Cardinal Camillo Ruini.

6.18 - In the presence of the Holy Father, 6 Decrees from the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints regarding martyrdom and heroic virtues were promulgated.
9.30 am: Audience in the Consistory Hall for the Members of the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

3 pm: Meeting with various managers, medical staff, and some children undergoing treatment, accompanied by their parents.

3.30 pm: Transfer by car to the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro

3.45 pm: Brief meeting with the Augustinian community in the Convent of the Basilica.
Greeting to the bishops of Lombardy and some collaborators in the cloister; impromptu speech to the faithful gathered there.

4.15 pm: Liturgy of the Word and veneration of the relics of Saint Augustine together with the bishops, clergy, consecrated men and women and permanent deacons of Lombardy present in the Basilica; improvised speech to the faithful gathered outside the basilica.

5 pm: Transfer by Popemobile to Piazza Duomo.
Visit to the Cathedral; adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and prayer before the altar of Saint Syrus, first bishop and patron of the diocese and the city.

5.15 pm: Transfer by foot to Piazza Vittoria.

5.30 pm: Meeting with the citizenry in the presence of 3,500 people; Act of Entrustment to the Madonna

6.30 pm: Farewell to the authorities at the Rugby CUS Field of Cravino.

6.45 pm: Departure by helicopter from Pavia.

6.55 pm: Arrival at the “Carlo Chiesa” municipal stadium in Via Francesco Cortese.

Transfer by car to the parish of Santi Antonio Abate e Francesca Cabrini; adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and veneration of the heart of Saint Francesca Cabrini.

7.30 pm: Transfer by car to the communal stadium; farewell ceremony.

7.45 pm: Departure from Sant’Angelo Lodigiano

9.15 pm: Arrival at the Vatican heliport.

The Holy Father appointed the Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, as Pontifical Legate for the celebrations marking the 9th centenary of the return of the relics of Saint Agatha, martyr, to Catania on 16 and 17 August 2026.

6.25 - Audience for the Members of the Presidency of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE).

In the afternoon, the Pope met with leaders of the synodal continental bodies together with the coordinators of the synodal teams at the General Secretariat of the Synod.

6.26 - 2nd Extraordinary Consistory with the Cardinals
7.30 am: Holy Mass in the Altar of the Chair with the Cardinals participating in the extraordinary Consistory
9.30 am: Introduction in the Paul VI Hall; the Pope made an introductory address; the Pope participated in the first and second sessions.

6.27 - In the morning, the Holy Father participated in the third session of the extraordinary consistory in the Paul VI Hall.
In the afternoon, the fourth and final session in the new Synod Hall; the Holy Father made a concluding speech.

6.28 - 12 nn: Angelus Domini; appeal for the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela.

6.29 - Saints Peter and Paul
9.30 am: Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica during which the Pope imposed the pallium on 35 new metropolitan archbishops from 19 countries; the Mass was concelebrated by cardinals who participated in the extraordinary consistory, prelates, and priests. It was attended by the delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, led by Emmanuel, Metropolitan of Chalcedon.
