CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES OF POPE LEO XIV: MAY 2026

 

Presented herein are the various activities undertaken by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, during the month of May, which marked the conclusion of the first full year of his Pontificate and the commencement of its second year. Among the principal events were his first pastoral visit to Italy in Pompei and Napoli and the promulgation of his first Encyclical Letter, Magnifica Humanitas.

1st PASTORAL VISIT TO ITALY

8 am: Departure from the Vatican heliport

8.50 am: Arrival in the meeting area of the Sanctuary of Pompeii; the helicopter arrived at 8.52 am.

9 am: Meeting with 450 people from disadvantaged situations in the Luisa Trapani Hall

9.45 am: Visit to the Pontifical Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary; meeting the ill and disabled people; The Holy Father made an off-the-cuff speech greeting the faithful gathered outside the sanctuary and the sick people inside the sanctuary.

10 am: Veneration of the relics of St. Bartolo Longo in the chapel dedicated to the Saint.
