Lampedusa: July 4
7.15 am: Departure by car from the Vatican to Ciampino airport.
7.45am: Take-off by helicopter from Ciampino Airport to Lampedusa; the helicopter departed at 7.49 am.
9.00 am: Arrival at Lampedusa airport; the helicopter arrived at 8.54 am.
Visit to the cemetery with a floral tribute on the graves.
Visit to the “Gateway to Europe," a monument dedicated to the migrants who were lost at sea attempting to reach Europe.
Stop at Molo Favaloro: blessing of the plaque naming the pier after Pope Francis; greeting to some migrants accompanied by members of the Red Cross.
10.30 am: Holy Mass at the "Arena" sports field in Salina; improvised greeting to the faithful gathered before Mass; at the end of the Mass, the Pope greeted the Authorities, sick children, volunteers
12.30 pm: Departure by helicopter from Lampedusa Airport; the helicopter departed at 12.54 pm.
1.45 pm: Arrival at Ciampino airport; the helicopter landed at 2.04 pm.
